As we work to expand the content and functionality of our website, I will soon be introducing a Technology Blog to share my insights and perspectives on current trends and issues in the World of Technology. I have already started a list with a few thoughts on various subjects to discuss including:

  • Security, Privacy, & The Cloud: What should our expectations be as we shift more towards SaaS (software as a service) solutions and the storage of our data on the cloud?
  • OS Alternatives: As we become more tech savvy and find ourselves navigating the Internet on tablets, phones, Chromebooks, Apple Computers (instead of PCs) and other similar products, all of which most likely have Operating Systems (OS) that are provided by Apple or Google (not Microsoft), what other software platforms are available providing a solid and efficient user experience; one with perhaps better features and security?
  • Buying Into an Ecosystem: How does this factor into what phone or tablet we should buy? Currently we are in a two-horse race with concerns to this topic: Apple vs Google. Microsoft has started to make some progress with their new Mobile phones but, representing just under 4% of the total market, we will simply keep an eye on them for future consideration.
  • Android Phones: So many choices, Many different experiences and yet, all built on the Android Platform. I would like to briefly explain why things are different, which products and companies currently are setting the bar with concerns to quality and, how to get a pure Google Phone.

These are just some of the ideas that I am tossing around, many of which were inspired via conversations I have had with my clients over the past year or two.
